Woven through fabric tight and fraying
pulled against wire-caged heart
they dance upon the fiery strands.
Laughing at thoughts unspoken
blackness into dreams slashes a bonded sediment
dissolving much as beach sands do.
Waves tug,
currents eschew away,
our hearts crooked.
Hidden radiance
watchful of the devils' fall
we unfurl our wings opening wide.
The darkness runs back toward the rocky crags
heat and sulfur find home.
Wide spread lofts
gathering speed
marry with the sun.
Union unending
and death avoided
we make victorious our ascent
for we are mind
and body
and soul
awakened against the devil’s hand.
We walk as much above
what demons lie.
